STEADfast Nebraska
(Student/Teacher Equitable Access Development)
Internet access is important for every student and teacher. Nebraska has been making strides to ensure that schools have access to high-speed internet and devices to perform schoolwork. Nebraska wants to ensure that broadband is also available and adequate in the home. To receive funding and provide aid, we need to know across Nebraska who does not have reliable internet access outside of the school.
The STEADfast project hopes to answer those questions and more! As mentioned, every school has provided a learning device for almost every student and teacher. Commonly this is a Chromebook, Windows laptop, or a tablet. This pilot project plans to utilize these devices to gather hardware performance of the devices while outside of the school. This data is then collected securely and provided to the school district and to the Department of Education.
